Special education consists of services and programs designed to meet the educational needs of students who meet state and federal eligibility criteria. To qualify for special education services, students must demonstrate the presence of a disability and also demonstrate the need for specially designed instruction.
The Trinity Area School District (TASD) believes that the inclusion of students with disabilities into the regular education environment will prepare all students to support each other and work cooperatively in the community. The TASD follows the requirements of IDEA to provide a free and appropriate public education for all students in the least restrictive environment.
Trinity Area School District offers a continuum of services for all students with disabilities. Supplemental aids and services are available and implemented as agreed to by the IEP team and documented in the studentâ€™s IEP. The TASD employs highly-qualified Special Service Aides to provide instructional support service to students with special needs and to facilitate integration of these students with their non-disabled peers in the inclusive setting.
