Trinity Area's Curriculum
The Trinity Area School District's Curricula is aligned with common core, federal and state standards. The District updates and modifies the curriculum and curriculum maps on a yearly basis. Understanding By Design is the systemic educational framework utilized by the Trinity Area School District to ensure that all students achieve to their maximum capability. The curricula was designed in accordance with state standards, the Understanding By Design framework, research-based best practices in education, and the specific learning needs of Trinity's students. Incorporating backward design, UbD, Learning Targets and frequent formative and summative assessments provide feedback to the students and the staff members to determine academic proficiency. The assessment results assist the teachers in utilizing differentiated instruction to meet every student's needs.
Additionally, John Collins' Writing Across the Curriculum is utilized in K - 12 classrooms to develop writing, thinking and meta-cognition skill sets.
Finally, the level of technology integration combined with STEAM-based programs have positioned the district to assist students in employing technology to solve real-world issues in an academic setting.
