Welcome to MY LIBRARY & IMAGINATION STATION at Trinity South and Trinity West, where students are inspired to read for recreation, to use valid and reliable resources for collaborative research projects, and to extend and apply what they are learning in their classrooms through a variety of activities.
I am thrilled to announce that the space has a new name this year to go with new initiatives we will be implementing throughout this year and upcoming years. The Imagination Station will bring hands-on activities, such as a Lego table, a NoRILLA table, and Edison Robots, as well as other tools that will encourage students to explore & develop skills in the area of STEAM. The space will still function as a library and students will continue to check out books each week. We updated the name to "My Library" to express that the library serves everyone and has something for everyone.
While in the space, students will be working to meet a variety of Common Core Standards. Additionally, standards from the American Association of School Librarians, which focus on information literacy and encourage students to Think, Create, Share, and Grow, will also be phased in over the course of this school year and next. For more information on these standards, please click this link: AASL Standards Guide for Parents/Guardians
As always, students are expected to conduct themselves in a socially appropriate and safe manner while they are in the library. They are also expected to be responsible with library materials that they borrow and to return them on time. In addition, students are expected to take care of materials and equipment while using the Imagination Station and to respect others by cleaning up after themselves.
I look forward to working together with your child this year! It is an exciting time in "My Library!"
Ms. Jennifer Paluda,
