Dr. Michael P. Lucas is proud and honored to be part of the long-standing tradition of pride and excellence at the Trinity Area School District.

Dr. Michael P. Lucas, who served as the TASD's Assistant Superintendent since 2011, was appointed Superintendent on July 1, 2014.  Since joining the Hiller family, his primary goal has been to provide every Trinity student with the best education possible by eliminating barriers to academic achievement. He has considered 21st Century students' learning needs and developed programs to support them at every age of their academic career.  Among his greatest accomplishments to date are: leading large-scale construction and renovation projects to maximize space for learning; bolstering therapeutic, mental health support services for K-12 students so they remain well-rounded socially and emotionally; and creating a career and technical school within Trinity High School that promotes nine CIP programs.  Due to Dr. Lucas's efforts, numerous Trinity students, as well as students from neighboring school districts, have embarked upon one of nine career pathways bridging school and life.  "To know that our students are ready to enter the workforce as an option immediately upon graduating from high school motivates me to continue offering meaningful learning experiences in realistic contexts, "Dr. Lucas explains.

Dr. Lucas's comprehensive vision of practical, authentic teaching and learning stems largely from his previous work as an educator.  Early in his career, he taught reading and social studies to elementary and middle schoolers, worked as a reading specialist, and coached football before being promoted to an assistant principal role at Moon Area High School.  Following his tenure at Moon, he served as the K-12 principal at Cornell School District while teaching at Robert Morris University.  Teaching and leading at all levels, including the post-secondary level, have allowed him to identify the connection between schooling and real life.

Unsurprisingly, Dr. Lucas's former teachers and students earned the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2010.  At the awards ceremony, he was chosen as one of 10 principals in America to receive the US Department of Education's Terrel H. Bell Award for Outstanding Leadership. Additionally, he was honored with a Citation Award from the PA House of Representatives for his school leadership and contributions to his community.

Dr. Lucas earned his Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Duquesne University.  He holds a Master's and Doctoral Degree in educational leadership from the University of Pittsburgh, where he received their Early Career Award in 2011.  In addition to holding a Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility, he holds certifications in reading specialization, elementary education, curriculum supervision, and school administration, K-12.  Currently, he is an active member of the University of Pittsburgh's Superintendents' Forum and an executive committee member of the Tri-State Study Council.  He is also the co-director of the Pennsylvania Administrators' Council on Education, a nonprofit organization that partners with school districts and post-secondary institutions in Western PA with the goal to improve teaching and learning.

Dr. Lucas is married to his wonderful wife, Michelle.  Together, they proudly parent their two children, MJ and Cadence.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, exercising, gardening and cheering his children to victory at their sporting events.

Dr. Constance DeMore-Savine began her work as Trinity Area’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction on August 18, 2021. In this role, her first priority is to ensure that each student engages in a curriculum that meets educational standards, and that teachers feel prepared to plan for and facilitate rigorous, purposeful instruction to improve their students’ achievement.

Since 1996, Dr. DeMore has proudly served as an educator in the public school system. She had worked diligently for 19 years as a middle school social studies teacher at the Norwin School District before being hired in 2015 to design, implement, and manage the district’s secondary gifted education program. Additionally, Dr. DeMore has worked as an adjunct professor at Saint Vincent College and the University of Pittsburgh, where, in 2011, she earned a Doctoral Degree in Administration and Policy Studies in Education and a certificate to supervise curriculum and instruction. Prior, she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Principal’s Certificate from St. Francis University. With a passion for teaching and learning, she continues to consult for school districts in Western PA, research, and publish.

Dr. DeMore hails from North Huntingdon, PA, where, in 2018, she was named one of the community’s Distinguished Alumni. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband, two stepsons, and dogs, and reading, painting and cooking.
