About the Optional Insurance for Chromebooks Program
Optional insurance for Chromebooks (and other district issued devices), which includes two accidental damage claims, is available for purchase from the District at a non-refundable cost of $25 per student.
- A separate form must be submitted for each student; insurance coverage cannot be shared.
- Students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch (verified through Direct Certification or an approved application) will be automatically enrolled at no cost.
This school year’s open enrollment for insurance will be open through September 19, 2025. Coverage is valid from the date of purchase through the open enrollment period of the following school year. After this period, insurance will only be available to new students enrolling in the district. Please note: Coverage does not carry over from year to year if unused.
What is covered under the Optional Insurance Program?
The program covers accidental damages (spills, drops, and breaks), environmental damage (natural disasters, fire, power surges), theft (all theft claims must have a police report filed within 5 days of the theft), and damaged Chromebook chargers. Incidents of abuse or intentional damage are not covered by the optional insurance program and may result in the full repair cost being billed to the Parent/Guardian.
